I was afraid to take antidepressants, because I read a lot about side effects. But I was getting really tense and something needed to be done. I had to spend a lot of time to find a good psychotherapist. The doctor explained everything in detail and showed me that antidepressants are safe if taken properly. We decided to go with Prozac, because it was the most popular medication within the antidepressant category. I’ve had a 5 months therapy course, and it helped me to stay focused. When I came out of it, there were no side effects whatsoever

Hello! I was prescribed Prozac to help me with panic and depression after I have had surgery. I am terrified of hospitals in general, and medical procedures make me feel insane. Long story short, I still had nightmares and feelings of discomfort. I would boil up with awful fear every night, I fell asleep only when I was completely exhausted. I have to say, Prozac started a shift towards positive feelings and perception of my life. Moreover, the positive effects remained with me even after I had finished the treatment course.

I take Prozac regularly. I hardly imagine myself functioning without it. It helps me to stay normal when I talk to people. At first, I’d worry that it zombifies me in some ways. I would feel dizzy and less active. But then I came to appreciate the feeling of calm. Basically, it makes me feel less jittery.

Prozac is well known to me, and I have used it several times in my life. The important thing to realize is that it does not take away all life’s problems, but it does help when you are going through some exceptionally emotional challenges.
